The work around the elevator
Every elevator contract has a work-by-others list: the power, fire alarm, pit and machine room items the building owes before the elevator can run. Elevator companies hand that list to us, and we have it done when their crew needs it.

One crew for the whole list
Power, fire alarm, pit and machine room items are different trades. We take the whole list, so you have one number to call and one proposal to read, and nothing on the building side holds up your turnover or acceptance inspection.
What's on the list
- Power and wiring
- Mainline disconnects and line-side wiring, GFCI receptacles in the machine room and pit, lighting, and labels on disconnects and breakers.
- Fire alarm
- The fire alarm side of elevator recall: smoke and heat detectors, relays and wiring run to the machine room and landed where your crew wants them, ready for your recall test. Shunt trip where sprinklers cover elevator equipment.
- Emergency power
- The generator and transfer switch side, wired and ready for your crew.
- Pit and hoistway
- Sump pumps, pit ladders, and structural and masonry fixes around the hoistway.
- Machine room
- Cooling that keeps the room in the temperature range the equipment needs.
How a job goes
- You send the work-by-others list, the drawings or the scope.
- We walk the site and look at every item.
- You get an itemized proposal, with every item priced on its own line.
- We do the work, and tell you when the building side is ready for your crew.
